CHICAGO — A Fire Department captain died in an apparent drowning early Monday in Jackson Park Harbor.
Fire officials were looking for a person who fell into the water at 1:30 a.m. in the 6500 block of South Richards Drive, according to tweets from the Fire Department.
Later, the department tweeted that Captain Darryl Moore had died in an apparent drowning while off-duty.
Moore, 55, was pronounced dead at 4:25 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
