DOWNTOWN — Two women offered a man a ride and then robbed him early Sunday in River North.

At 4:01 a.m., the man, 47, was standing on the sidewalk in the 600 block of North Wells Street when two women in a dark-colored car pulled up next to him, police said. The women offered the man a ride and he got in.

The women then robbed the man and threw him out of the car in the 300 block of West Chicago Avenue, police said. They took his cellphone and several credit cards.

The women drove off, and no one was in custody, police said.

No detailed of the description was given, but police have reported at least seven similar robberies committed by two women who pose as rideshare drivers on the Near North Side and then rob passengers.
