DOWNTOWN — A woman was raped at gunpoint inside a River North hotel room on Saturday night, police said.

At 9:45 p.m. Saturday, the woman was at a hotel in the 100 block of West Huron Street when a man with a gun forced his way into the room, police said. The rape happened in the Godfrey Hotel, according to WGN.

The man bound the woman and raped her. She was found by hotel staff because her room was left open. The attacker was captured on surveillance cameras, WGN reported.

The attacker left afterward, stealing some of the woman’s things, police said.

The woman was taken to Northwestern Hospital in good condition.

No one was in custody.
