Think You’re Paying Too Much In Property Taxes? Tax Appeal Workshop Set For Pilsen This Weekend

PILSEN — The Cook County Assessor’s office and the Pilsen Planning Committee Housing Task Force will host a workshop to help homeowners appeal their property tax assessment in Pilsen Saturday.

Representatives from the Cook County Assessor’s office will answer questions on the appeal process at 9 a.m. Saturday at Benito Juarez High School, 1450 W. Cermak Road.

Homeowners who plan to attend are asked to bring their property tax bill, assessment notice and property PIN number.

The Pilsen Planning Committee’s Housing Task Force, led by the Resurrection Project, will be at the workshop to provide homeowners with information on refinancing, rehab loans and more.

Homeowners in Pilsen, who are part of the West Chicago Township, have until Sept. 25 to submit a property tax appeal. 

The Cook County Assessor’s office mailed reassessment notices to homeowners in West Chicago Township on Aug. 24.
