UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — Police are looking for a driver who seriously injured a man in a hit-and-run accident Thursday afternoon near the University of Illinois at Chicago campus.
At 1:55 p.m. Thursday, a black Ford Crown Victoria hit and seriously injured a 60-year-old man on a stand-up lawn mower, police said in a community alert.
After hitting the pedestrian, the driver fled southbound on the 1200 block of South Halsted Street, police said.
The Ford had extensive damage to the front end of the car, and the license plate is AJ81664.
Police are encouraging anyone who has information about the crash to call 312-745-4521.
