DOWNTOWN — Bring an umbrella to the barbecue this Labor Day: It could rain every day over the holiday weekend.

It’ll be a warm weekend with high humidity and rain showers scattered throughout the city every day, said Ben Deubelbeiss, a National Weather Service meteorologist. Chicagoans should be prepared for “really sticky air,” he said.

Friday will see temperatures in the low to mid-80s, but things will warm up for the rest of the weekend. Saturday, Sunday and Monday could see temperatures hit the upper 80s, though with the high humidity will feel like the low to mid-90s, Deubelbeiss said.

There will be a chance for rain every day, but the showers will be scattered and spread throughout the city.

“Not everyone’s going to see” rain, Deubelbeiss said. “It’s not going to be a washout for any location.”

There will be a slight breeze of about 10 mph each day, Deubelbeiss said.
