CHICAGO — Two men are stealing cars at gunpoint in “bump-and-run” carjackings on the North Side, police said.
During four carjackings in just two days, the robbers bumped into the victim’s rear bumper as they drove, leading to the victim getting out of his or her car, according to a Chicago Police community alert.
The robbers then stole the victim’s car at gunpoint and drove away.
The carjackings occurred:
• 12:07 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of West George Street
• 1:20 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of West Farragut Avenue
• 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of West Belle Plaine Avenue
• 9:03 p.m. Tuesday in the 2500 block of West Bosworth Avenue
No detailed description of the robbers was available, though police said they might wear ski masks.
