CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy died in a car crash Wednesday morning in Avondale.
At 4:05 a.m., five teens were in a car when the driver, a 17-year-old, crashed into a light pole in the 2800 block of North Western Avenue, police said.
The driver and a passenger, a 16-year-old boy, ran away after the crash.
The 15-year-old, who was a passenger in the back of the car, died from blunt head trauma, police said. A 14-year-old injured his shoulder and a 15-year-old boy injured his jaw. They were taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as “stable,” police said.
