Logan Square’s Annual Lucha Libre Wrestling Match Set For This Weekend

More than a dozen masked wrestlers, or luchadores, will face off Saturday in a pop-up ring at Unity Park.

LOGAN SQUARE — Logan Square’s fourth annual luche libre event is upon us. 

More than a dozen masked wrestlers, or luchadores, will face off Saturday in a pop-up ring at Unity Park at 2636 N. Kimball Ave. The two-hour rumble kicks off at noon.

This year’s participating luchadores include Kidd Foxxx, Bandolero, Skyade Jr., Johnny Thunder, The Janitor, Beast, Atomico Jr., Atomico Sr., Tully, Mike Strong, Jake Moody, Willie Da Bomb and Iceman.

The lucha libre event, put on by the Unity Park Advisory Council, typically attracts hundreds of people.

Lucha libre is a type of wrestling with origins in Mexico.

The event is free and open to the public.
