Back-To-School Picnic In Hyde Park On Sunday Features Free Food, Music, Backpacks, Haircuts

HYDE PARK — Children can get free haircuts, backpacks and school supplies Sunday at the 5th Ward Back-to-School Picnic.

Hosted by Ald. Leslie Hairston (5th), the annual event will run from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the 63rd Street Beach House, 6301 S. Lake Shore Drive.

Representatives from Hairston’s office said the event will offer free immunization shots and other health resources.

Targeted toward the whole family, food and music will also be provided throughout the day.

Inflatable houses, face painting tables, arts and crafts and other activities will be set up as well.
