CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was shot to death next to the University of Chicago campus early Thursday.
At 12:05 a.m., the man was in a car stopped at a red light near Woodlawn Avenue and Midway Plaisance when someone drove up and fired shots at his car, police said.
The man was hit in his head, left shoulder, lower right arm and right thigh, police said. He drove west on Midway Plaisance and crashed into a tree.
The man was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center and pronounced dead, police said.
No one was in custody.
