Near North Side Businesses Targeted In 3 Burglaries In 4 Days

Burglars are forcing open cash registers and taking money.

DOWNTOWN — Burglars stole from three Near North Side businesses in less than a week.

The burglars broke into businesses by prying open front doors, according to a Chicago Police business alert. They forced open the businesses’ cash registers and took cash.

The burglaries occurred:

• Early morning Aug. 15 in the 200 block of West Grand Avenue
• Early morning Aug. 17 in the 200 block of East Grand Avenue
• Early morning Friday in the 300 block of East Illinois Street

The burglars were described as two men who were 30-35 years old, 5-foot-9 to 6-feet tall and 185-200 pounds, police said.
