DOWNTOWN – Mayoral candidate Lori Lightfoot’s proposal to ban aldermen from working as working as land-use, zoning or real estate attorneys picked up an endorsement from Fritz Kaegi, who is set to take over in 2019 as Cook County assessor.

Ald. Patrick O’Connor (40), the mayor’s floor leader; 14th Ward Ald. Ed Burke, the chairman of the Finance Committee; and 11th Ward Ald. Patrick Daley Thompson all have lucrative land-use law practices.
