CHICAGO — Five people were shot after a weekly softball game in Grand Crossing Sunday, police said.
At 10:57 p.m. Sunday, the five victims were outside in the 7400 block of South Dante Avenue when someone inside a black van fired shots at them, police said. Some of the victims had played in a softball game earlier in the evening in the area.
The victims:
• A 30-year-old man was shot in his ankle and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
• A 40-year-old woman was shot in her calf and she was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.
• A 26-year-old man was shot in his leg and he was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
• A 42-year-old man was shot in his arm and he was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
• A man, whose age was not immediately available, was shot in his chest and back. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.
No one was in custody.
