CHICAGO — A Lakeview food pantry needs votes to try to win a $25,000 grant.
Lakeview Pantry, 3945 N. Sheridan Road, has provided food to low-income people in and around the Lakeview neighborhood for nearly 50 years. It’s now in the running to receive a $25,000 grant from the State Farm Neighborhood Assist program, but it needs votes to win.
During the last fiscal year, Lakeview Pantry provided 1.3 million meals to more than 8,500 people, according to its entry in the contest.
Voting ends the night of Aug. 24. Grants will go to the 40 organizations or causes that have the most votes.
