WEST TOWN — Women have been targeted by armed robbers in two recent West Town robberies, according to a community alert sent Monday from the Near West (12th) District police.
In both incidents, one or two men approach a woman or women, show a handgun and demand property from the victim or victims. The one or two armed men then ran away after the robberies, the alert said.
The incidents occurred in the:
- 1700 block of West Pearson Street at 11:40 p.m. Aug. 1
- 500 block of North Armour Street at 12:50 a.m. Aug. 10
Chicago Police are looking for suspects in connection with the robberies.
The suspects are described as black men between the ages of 17-24, about 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-11 and weighing 150-180 pounds. One of the suspects was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and the other a black hooded sweatshirt, police said. Both men wore black jeans and white gym shoes, according to police.
