Women Targeted In West Town Armed Robberies, Police Say

The robberies happened in the 1700 block of West Pearson Street and the 500 block of North Armour Street, police said.

WEST TOWN —  Women have been targeted by armed robbers in two recent West Town robberies, according to a community alert sent Monday from the Near West (12th) District police.

In both incidents, one or two men approach a woman or women, show a handgun and demand property from the victim or victims. The one or two armed men then ran away after the robberies, the alert said.

The incidents occurred in the:

  • 1700 block of West Pearson Street at 11:40 p.m. Aug. 1
  • 500 block of North Armour Street at 12:50 a.m. Aug. 10

Chicago Police are looking for suspects in connection with the robberies. 

The suspects are described as black men between the ages of 17-24, about 5-feet-7 to 5-feet-11 and weighing 150-180 pounds. One of the suspects was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and the other a black hooded sweatshirt, police said. Both men wore black jeans and white gym shoes, according to police.
