CHICAGO — A woman is facing charges after police said she took her daughter from a relative in Little Village.
At noon Saturday, the 5-year-old girl was walking with a family member in the 3700 block of West 26th Street when her mother, Susette Reynosa, walked up, took the child and got into a car, police said. The two drove away.
Reynosa does not have custodial rights over her daughter, and the girl was reported missing.
Later that night, at 10 p.m., Reynosa was arrested in the 1800 block of South Springfield Avenue, police said. The 5-year-old girl was safely returned to her father.
Reynosa was charged with unlawful restraint, and a check showed there was also an active warrant for her arrest on an unrelated charge, police said. She was scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday.
