WEST ENGLEWOOD — A Rolling Meadows man last seen in West Englewood is missing, and police and family are now searching for him.
Vasudeva Kethireddy, 76, was last seen at a bank in West Englewood on Saturday.
He didn’t return home, however, and his family reported him missing to Rolling Meadows Police. His 2005 white Toyota Prius was later found near 60th and May, but his family said Tuesday night that he is still missing.
According to the northwest suburban department, Kethireddy left his home at 8 a.m. Saturday and was last seen at a J.P. Morgan Bank location at 6940 Ashland Ave. at 4 p.m.
Kethireddy’s daughter-in-law, Carolyn, said he owns four or five buildings in the Englewood area and a few in Garfield Park. He was planning to meet a tenant on Emerald Avenue near where his car was found, but the tenant said he never showed, his daughter-in-law said.
Authorities say Kethireddy is 5-foot-5 and approximately 135 pounds.
“He really wouldn’t hurt a fly. He’s a devout Hindu, he’s a vegetarian, he’s just a nice guy,” Carolyn said.
She said it is not typical for her father to not contact family or friends over this long of a period of time.
If anyone has any information regarding his whereabouts, contact the Rolling Meadows Police Department at 847-255-2416.
