LAKEVIEW — A group of gunmen robbed employees of the Tuco and Blondie restaurant on Southport Avenue after closing time early Monday, according to police and reports.
At 12:25 a.m. Monday, the robbers went to the restaurant in the 3300 block of North Southport Avenue and held the staff at gunpoint while robbing them of five cellphones, police said.
The gunmen were masked and wore dark hoodies. They also emptied Tuco and Blondie’s safe and cash box, according to the CWB Chicago website.
Police said they robbers fled through the restaurant’s back exit.
There were no major injuries, police said, and the victims refused medical attention.
No one was in custody.
