CHICAGO — My Block, My Hood, My City is helping teens lead tours of North Lawndale over the summer.

Spots are still available for tours this weekend, according to an email from My Block, My Hood, My City. The organization works with teens from South and West side communities, taking them on tours throughout the city — and even outside it — to help them experience new things.

Now the group has trained teens to take visitors on tours of their own neighborhoods. The teens spent weeks learning about North Lawndale. During the tours, they walk attendees through the neighborhood, showing them historical sites and spots beloved by residents.

“Our youth have spent weeks researching and planning these tours for y’all,” Jahmal Cole, founder of the group, wrote in an email to supporters. “Come out and experience the best way to explore the city of Chicago.”

The tours are held 9 a.m.-noon or 1 Saturdays until Aug. 18. Tickets are available online for $25.
