DOWNTOWN — Chicago is set to see its first cool, rain-free weekend in weeks.
The city will see temperatures in the 70s throughout the weekend, and there should be plenty of sun, said Charles Mott, a National Weather Service meteorologist. There will also be a breeze for part of the weekend.
“Compared to our last few weekends, a cool summer weekend,” Mott said.
The weekend will get progressively warmer: Friday will see high temperatures in the mid-70s, Saturday will hit the upper 70s and Sunday will be about 80 degrees, Mott said.
Friday will be partly sunny in the afternoon and mostly clear at night, while Saturday and Sunday will be partly sunny during the day. There’s a “slight chance” of rain on Sunday, but the city is expected to be dry on Friday and Saturday, Mott said.
There will be a breeze of 10-15 mph on Friday, while there will be a weaker wind of 5-10 mph Saturday, Mott said. There won’t be much wind at all Sunday.
