CHICAGO — A carjacker shot a driver after he tried to escape the gunman early Friday in Grand Corssing.
At 3:53 a.m., a 42-year-old man was trying to park his car in the 7200 block of South Blackstone Avenue when three men, one of them carrying a gun, walked up to him, police said. The driver was getting out of his car and the men told him they wanted it.
The driver got back into the car and drove away, and the gunman fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in his elbow and leg. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was in good condition, police said.
The man’s car was not taken. No one was in custody.
