DOWNTOWN — Three people were attacked Monday night near the State and Lake CTA station.
At 11:40 p.m., the victims — a 25-year-old man, a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman — were walking in the first block of East Lake Street when they got into an argument with three men, police said.
The three men attacked the victims, stabbing the woman in her neck, the 25-year-old man in his chest and beating the 26-year-old man, police said. The three were taken to Northwestern Hospital, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as “stable,” police said.
At 11:53 p.m., Chicago Police officers went on the Green Line platform at the State and Lake Station to search for the attackers. A 25-year-old man came up to them and started fighting the officers, police said.
An officer used a Taser on the man and he was taken into custody, police said. An officer and the man were taken to Northwestern Hospital, where the man was still being treated, police said. The officer was discharged.
The man from the Green Line platform was not related to the stabbing, according to police.
