CHICAGO — Chicago Police officers were hospitalized after a crash on the Near West Side on Wednesday night.
At 7:24 p.m., the officers were driving north in the first block of South Damen Avenue near the United Center when a car going east on Warren Boulevard crashed into a squad car, police said.
The officers were taken to a local hospital, where their conditions were not available but they were listed as “stable,” police said. The driver of the other car refused medical attention.
The officers had been responding to a call of a person with a gun and had their car’s lights and/or sirens on, police said.
The driver of the other car was cited for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
