CHICAGO — A man followed and tried to lure a 10-year-old girl to him using candy Monday in Park Manor, police said.

At 2:30 p.m. Monday, the girl got off a bus in the 7000 block of South Rhodes Avenue and saw the man standing on the sidewalk, police said. She began to walk and the man followed her, saying, “Come here. I have candy.”

The girl ran away and the man chased her for a short distance, police said. The girl safely got to her home.

The girl saw the same man standing in the same place on July 13, police said.

The man was described as 30 to 40 years old, black, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6 and 170-230 pounds, police said. He had brown eyes and black hair worn in braids.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call police at 312-747-8380.
