CHICAGO — Two local groups are looking for volunteers to help clean a South Side block this weekend.
The Chicago International Youth Peace Movement and HerStory: My Sisters’ Keeper are teaming up for a block cleanup at the Bronzeville Community Garden from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at 51st Street and South Calumet Avenue.
The two organizations were founded by artist and activist Jessica “FM Supreme” Disu, who created the groups to empower young people in Chicago and promote nonviolence. This is the third annual block cleanup.
Free water will be available for volunteers.
