CHICAGO — A ride-share driver with a Concealed Carry license shot at two passengers who tried to take his car, police said.
At 11:17 a.m. Thursday, the 23-year-old driver picked up two men near the 7400 block of West Belmont Avenue, police said. The passengers beat the man and tried to take his car, and the driver took out his gun.
The passengers got out of the car and ran away. The driver chased after them, firing shots but not hitting anyone, police said.
One of the passengers jumped back into the car and started to drive away. The driver grabbed the car and was dragged, eventually falling off, police said.
The passenger who stole the car got away, and the car was later found with no one inside it, police said.
The driver was taken to Community First Hospital in good condition, police said.
