LOGAN SQUARE — Popular Naperville-based brewery, Solemn Oath, is joining the neighborhood.
A recently-issued public notice posted on the new apartment building at 1955 N. Richmond St. next to FoodSmart calls for a brewery on the ground floor. Solemn Oath Brewery LLC is listed as the owner.
There will be a taproom on site, owner John Barley confirmed. Owners are seeking both a packaged goods license and a tavern license for the Logan Square brewery, according to the notice.
Founded in 2012, Solemn Oath Brewery is based out of suburban Naperville, where it serves up an array of Belgian-inspired and barrel-aged beers.
Barley said he wasn’t ready to divulge too many details about the project, saying it’s in very early stages. But he confirmed the taproom component, where patrons can sit and drink Solemn Oath’s beer.
“The response has been incredible with Logan Square breweries, businesses, and a lot of friends reaching out to welcome us,” he wrote in an email.
The news of Solemn Oath’s entry comes after Middle Brow Beer announced plans to open down the street, at 2840 W. Armitage Ave.
