DOWNTOWN — Boxcar Betty’s is giving away fried chicken sandwiches for National Fried Chicken Day.
Breakfast biscuits will be available in the morning and Boxcar and Betty sandwiches will be handed out in the afternoon of July 6 for the foodie holiday. The sandwiches will be available in exchange for donations of any amount to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, a food bank.
The Boxcar is made with pimiento cheese, peach slaw, pickles and spicy mayonnaise. The Betty sandwich comes with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayonnaise.
Breakfast biscuits will be available 6:30-8:30 a.m. and sandwiches 4:30-6 p.m. July 6 at the restaurant inside Ogilvie Transportation Center, 500 W. Madison St.
