IRVING PARK — Two businesses in the Six Corners shopping area of Irving Park were robbed recently, including a man pulling a knife on an employee who confronted him.
In both robberies someone entered the business and picked up merchandise and then tried to leave without paying, police say.
The first robbery happened in the 4600 Block of West Irving Park Road on May 30 at 2:15 p.m. and involved a man and a woman. When the man began to leave the business without paying, a store employee confronted him. The man pulled a knife and then took off in a gold Toyota Corolla.
The second robbery happened in the 4600 Block of West Irving Park Road on June 7 at 2:35 p.m. This involved four women who also were going to leave the business with merchandise they didn’t pay for. A store employee confronted the group and the women pushed the employee out of the way and fled in a black Mercury Mountaineer.
