The man was slain in the 3100 block of West 40th Street
CHICAGO — A man in his 30s was killed in Brighton Park early Monday, police said.
At 12:53 a.m., the man was inside a home in the 3100 block of West 40th Street when he was killed from blunt force trauma to his head, police said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a weapon was found, police said.
A person of interest was in custody.
Mayor Brandon Johnson also confirmed he would join a city delegation to visit the southern border "as soon as possible." More than 17,000 asylum seekers have arrived in Chicago since August 2022.
A publishing error by the City Clerk's office resulted in the ordinance being left off the council's agenda Wednesday. Alderpeople will return to City Hall Friday for a final vote.
The ordinances approved by City Council are a win for Ald. Brian Hopkins, who has pushed to establish a liquor license moratorium and crack down on drunken, disorderly behavior.
The limited-edition fall flavor will be available throughout October for $8 a shot at CH Distillery's bar in the West Loop.
