Police Issue Warning After Armed Robberies on Near West Side

In two separate incidents, the robber approached victims brandishing a gun and demanding or taking the victims property by force, police said.

NEAR WEST SIDE— Police are cautioning residents after a pair of armed robberies on the Near West Side.

In two separate incidents, an armed man approached victims and robbed them, police said in a statement.

The most recent incident occurred on June 6 at 7:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Harrison Street. The other incident occurred June 4 at 10:05 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Polk Street, police said.

Police are urging residents to keep aware of their surroundings and report suspicious activity immediately.
