CHATHAM — A man fired shots near the 79th Street Red Line station late Tuesday.
At 11:27 p.m., the gunman was chasing another man when he fired shots in the first block of West 79th Street near the entrance to the Red Line station, according to police.
The gunman missed and no one was hit, according to police, but a bullet did go through the door to the station entrance. A bullet fragment was found.
The intended victim left before officers arrived, according to police.
No one was in custody.
