Wicker Park Farmers Market 2018: Everything You Need to Know

Here all the vendors, the wares and the hours. Shop away!

WICKER PARK — The Wicker Park Farmers Market kicks off this weekend and runs every Sunday until Oct. 28 in the neighborhood’s namesake park.

There are more than two dozen vendors signed up this season, selling everything from fruits, vegetables and meat to ready-to-eat samosas, crepes, bagels and doughnuts.

Located at 1425 N. Damen Ave., the market hours are 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Sundays. At this Sunday’s opening market, there will be a variety of free activities, including musical performances, street hockey on the Chicago Blackhawks inflatable rink (RSVP required) and walking tours of the park and gardens.

Here’s the list of confirmed vendors as of May 30, provided by market manager Alice Howe.

Aruyveda Alchemists — Organic cleaning supplies, handmade sprays.

Avrom Farm — Pasture-raised meats.

Beacon Dougnuts — Doughnuts.

Brobagel — Four types of bagels (plain, sesame, everything, cinnamon-raisin) and four cream cheeses (plain, veggie, Sriracha, walnut-raisin), plus a market special bagel sandwich featuring Hot Doug’s Atomic sausage.

Chiya Chai — Samosas, curry bowls (vegetarian or chicken masala) and savory pies. Chai and mango lassi beverages.

Dove’s Luncheonette — Seasonally rotating paleta (ice cream bars) and agua fresca, water sweetened with fruit.

Elsie Mae’s Cannery & Pies— Mini pies, jam, canned fruits.

Fehr Bros. Farms — Meat, eggs.

Garden Offerings & Petal’s Farm — Florals & ornamentals.

Guiltless Garden — Six flavors of guacamole and chips.

Ipsento — Nitro coffee (from a bike).

Iron Creek — Organic produce.

Kinetic Ferment Co. — Fermented foods such as miso, kimchi, vegetables and vinegars.

La Farine Bakery — Baked goods and bread.

LaShuk Street Food — Hummus, falafel and pita and other ready-to-eat items.

Letizia’s Fiore — Pasta, baked goods.

Lyon’s Fruit Farm — Vegetables, plants and herbs.

Mint Creek — Organic meat, eggs, prepared foods.

MJC Crepes — Freshly prepared crepes on-site (no website).

Nichols Farm & Orchard — Seasonal produce.

NutMeg’s Spreads — Almond, cashew and peanut butter.

Pasta Pappone — Flavored pasta.

Publican Anker — Pickles, spices and ground turkey.

River Valley Ranch — Produce, jarred goods, prepared foods.

Seedling — Fruit, miscellaneous herbs & vegetables.

Stamper Cheese — Artisanal cheese.

Sitka Salmon — Wild-caught Alaskan seafood.

Sweet N’ Dainty Cupcakery — Cupcakes.

Velvet Desserts — French pastries.

The market accepts LINK and SNAP cards and offers the Double Value Coupon Program, which provides matching funds for LINK card users when they purchase LINK-eligible products.

Shoppers who compost at home can drop off a bucket of their organic waste at Healthy Soil Compost, which will haul it away via bike and give composters a clean bucket each week.

There is no designated parking area for customers, although street parking is available. The Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, which produces the market, suggests walking, biking and public transportation. Bus riders can take the CTA №50 Damen bus to Le Moyne Avenue.

As an additional bonus, there will free yoga from 9–9:45 a.m. every Sunday led by Nature Yoga instructors in Schiller’s Grove, at the southeast corner of the park and a book swap every third Sunday. Market shoppers can also enjoy free outdoor music and theater events, in partnership with the Wicker Park Advisory Council.
