LINCOLN SQUARE — Small Cheval is opening a new location in Lincoln Square near Welles Park.
Signs for the beloved burger joint were posted on the door of 2156 W. Montrose Ave. recently. The Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce and Ald. Matt Martin’s (47th) office confirmed Small Cheval is moving in.
Small Cheval representatives could not immediately be reached for comment.

Small Cheval is a casual burger chain spun off from its parent restaurant Au Cheval, 800 W. Randolph St., which offers “elevated” diner fare. There are seven Small Cheval locations in the city.
The Montrose Avenue property was previously home to two real estate offices and, more recently, the Chicago Waldorf School.
City records show construction permits to convert the interior of the building into a restaurant were approved May 23.
