LAKEVIEW — A bar with a custom-made mini golf course is now open in Lakeview.

Big Mini Putt Club opened its second location at 3655 N. Halsted St. this weekend, featuring a nine-hole mini golf course, a full bar and a variety of nostalgic games, including skeeball and air hockey.

Co-founders Nick Jenkins and Austin DeLonge opened their first Big Mini Putt Club in 2021 at 1302 N. Milwaukee Ave., in Wicker Park. They transformed the former garment manufacturing building into a nostalgic hangout with a bar and a unique Chicago-themed mini golf course they designed together in a makeshift basement workshop.

The newly opened second location expands on their initial idea with an entirely new mini golf course that Jenkins and DeLonge developed based on feedback from customers who played the course at their first location.

The course is more challenging than the first and features nine new holes, including one based on Wrigley Field, they said.

The entire experience is designed to make visitors “feel like they’re kids again,” Jenkins said in February.

“What makes the experience fun and exciting is that it’s an equal-opportunity place where everyone can make a fool of themselves in the mini golf course and yet walk out of there having a good time,” Jenkins said.

The space has a more open layout than the first location so everyone can be involved in mini golf even if they’re having a drink at the bar or playing another game.

The full-service bar features 12 draft lines and 10 rotating specialty cocktails. The bar doesn’t serve food, but visitors can bring food or order from nearby restaurants.

In addition to skeeball and air hockey, there’s Pop-A-Shot and a room with Nintendo 64 video game consoles.

Big Mini Putt Club is open 4-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 4-11 p.m., 2 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday.

Visitors can reserve the course online. Walk-ins are welcome too.
